In the present day context, Sub-contracting core items is a universally accepted practice which enhances effectiveness of operations by reducing inventory by JIT (Just-in-time) principle. However, success through Sub-contracting will depend to a large extent on selection of suitable Vendors. GAPS has been playing a crucial role in the evaluation of Vendors to assess their capability/capacity for delivering quality goods to the customers on time.
